Why Sponsorship?

Throughout the world children and young adults are suffering because they can’t afford to go to school. To many of these kids, there sounds a loud message: “Give up, you’re worthless, no one cares about you!” Children have often faced an insurmountable despair, and many give up hope of ever making it in life, sinking to awful depths.

Kenya Kids Ministries is stepping in and compassionately reaching out to these children and telling them that they are worth something and that someone does care about them. We believe strongly that every child has the right to an education and we therefore sponsor youth in secondary school.

One of the biggest dilemmas as children grow up in an institutional home is the problem of where the money will come from to support their continuing education. Kenya Kids Ministries has realized this problem and through the school sponsorship program strives to alleviate the burden of the home to provide financial assistance for their kids, while also giving the student an opportunity to learn and grow in a way they would not have been able to otherwise. The program seeks to cover all tuition expenses while also assisting with other material needs that cannot be provided by the home or guardians. While assisting with academic fees, KKM encourages the students to do their best, holding them to high academic and moral standards. A KKM representative will try to attend all PTA meetings and accompany the student to school at the beginning of each term and at each holiday. During term breaks and holidays students will either be reunited with their families or home, but will also work with KKM to reach out and assist the community. While involved with the school sponsorship program, students must follow specific guidelines established by KKM designed to encourage students to excel.
