Molly Sauka

Molly was born in 1990. When she was seven years old her father died. Immediately after burial his relatives came and took all that the family had including the money that was in the bank that had been kept aside for school fees. In 2001 the children had to drop out of school. In 2003 free primary school education was introduced and so they went back to school but were sent two classes behind from their peers.

Molly’s mother fell sick at the end of 2005 and was admitted. By this time the children were living at Joy Divine Children’s Home. Kenya Kids Ministries learnt about the awful situation Molly and her sisters were going through. Their mother had just died and they were far away from where she was in the hospital. Everyone was unaware of what had killed her mother, but it was believed to be AIDs related.

Molly had just finished primary school at the top of her class and was left all alone. There was no one to help her and her sisters. Mary of Joy Divine took in the three girls and is currently taking care of the two young sisters as KKM is sponsoring Molly to attend secondary school.

Molly is in form one at Sunrise Girls High School. She is ranked number 4 in her school. Her ambition is to be a International Journalist. Molly has a B+ average.
